How we verify results

Every result on this site carries a badge showing how far it has been checked. Nothing is published as "confirmed" on the strength of a single source.

The three badges

Verification: 1 source Numbers read from one source, usually the operator's published results. Shown as "Numbers in — awaiting confirmation".
Verification: 2 sources A second, independent source published the same numbers.
Verification: Official ✓ Both of the operator's own channels — the results data feed and the draw page — agree.

The process

  1. A scheduled job starts checking each source a few minutes after the draw time and repeats every few minutes until numbers appear.
  2. The numbers are parsed and compared with what we already hold. Anything that disagrees is held back and flagged rather than published.
  3. When a second source matches, the draw is marked Confirmed and the prize breakdown is added as soon as the operator publishes it.
  4. Where a prize is shared rather than fixed, the amount stays "pending" until the official breakdown is out — we never estimate it.
  5. Each result carries a source line saying where it came from and when it was last updated.

What the rules say

Under the National Lottery Rules, the official record of a draw is the one held by the operator and the independent draw witness — not a website, a newspaper, or even the operator's own site and app (Rule 8.6). The operator may also correct a published result after the event (Rule 8.7).

Results are published for information only and are not the official record. Under the National Lottery Rules, only the results recorded by the independent draw witness and Allwyn's computer system are valid for prize purposes — not this site, newspapers, or even the operator's own website or app. Always check your ticket with the operator or a retailer before discarding it.

When a result changes after we have published it, we publish the change — with the old and new values — in the corrections log, and the draw page shows a correction banner.

  • 49's Ltd results feed for the four daily 49's draws.
  • Premier Lotteries Ireland results for Irish Lotto, cross-checked against a second publisher.
  • The Health Lottery and People's Postcode Lottery published results.
  • Historic draws and ticket sales figures from public archives, used only for pages about the past.
