Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to read a lottery result, including people using a screen reader, a magnifier, a keyboard alone or a phone in bright sunlight.
The standard we work to
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means:
- Body text at 18 pixels by default, with a larger-text toggle that increases everything by a quarter and remembers your choice.
- Contrast above the required ratios in both the light and dark themes, and the theme follows your device setting unless you override it.
- A visible focus outline on every control, and every control reachable with the keyboard alone.
- A skip link to the main content as the first item on every page.
- Results announced to screen readers when they update, so a live page does not change silently.
- A "read numbers aloud" button on draw pages where your browser supports speech.
Numbers never rely on colour
A bonus or extra ball is marked with a dashed outline and a text label, not just a different colour. A matched number carries a tick and the word "matched" for screen readers. Tables have proper headers and captions, so a screen reader can announce which column a figure belongs to.
Known limitations
- Advertising is supplied by a third party and we do not control its markup.
- Some very wide statistics tables scroll horizontally on small screens; the same figures are available in the summary above each table.
Tell us about a problem
